Precipitation on the ground and in two vertical cross sections of a major storm north of Houston, TX, on February 10, 1998, as measured by the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) satellite. One of the two cross sections cuts through the entire storm in the direction of the satellite's path. The other cuts through the storm along the line of heaviest rainfall. Detailed views of the two cross sections are shown below.
