Michael P. Anderson

Selected by NASA in December 1994, Michael P. Anderson recently completed his first space shuttle mission (January 22-31, 1998) aboard STS-89 (Endeavour), the eighth of nine planned missions to dock the space shuttle with Russia's Mir space station.

Anderson graduated from the University of Washington and went on to receive his master's degree in physics from Creighton University. He was born December 25, 1959, in Plattsburgh, New York.
